System suitability calculation for 2D peaks

To calculate the system suitability values for a 2D peak, the application evaluates all associated ²D peaks.

The system suitability values are calculated as follows, based on the ²D peaks:

  • Resolution: Minimum resolution from all associated ²D peaks

  • Selectivity: Minimum selectivity from all associated ²D peaks

  • Tailing: Maximum of tailing from all associated ²D peaks

  • Asymmetry: Maximum asymmetry from all associated ²D peaks

  • Capacity factor: Minimum capacity factor from all associated ²D peaks

  • Plates: Minimum number of theoretical plates (per column) from all associated ²D peaks

  • Plates pm: Minimum number of theoretical plates per meter from all associated ²D peaks

  • Noise: Maximum noise from all associated ²D peaks

  • Signal to Noise: Minimum S/N from all associated ²D peaks

  • Symmetry: Minimum symmetry from all associated ²D peaks.

Note that the Symmetry Factor (USP, EP, JP) is identical with the Tailing Factor (USP). See Symmetry factor, tailing factor (USP)
